General Description: The purpose of the Academic Interventionist Teacher is to provide reading & math support to improve students success by implementing direct reading math support using approved curriculum documenting student progress activities and outcomes. The Interventionist will deliver reading model skills; math strategies for success; provide a safe and positive learning environment; provide feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and goals. The Interventionist will also support students working remotely as needed with the support of the Edgenuity online platform. Responsibilities:Collects analyzes and prepares data for the purpose of interpretation and reporting to the district state and federal rules based reading instruction to students as neededProvides reading instruction to support fluency and comprehension needs of studentsProvides math intervention supports in Algebra 1 for students Demonstrates methods required to perform assignments for the purpose of providing an effective reading program and addressing the needs of students abilities in reading skills for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of learning disorders developing remediation plans and evaluating student students (small group sessions) for the purpose of improving their success in reading and student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and an optimal learning student progress for the purpose of providing student feedback on a regular basis to students teachers and parents and determining interventions for those students who are diagnosed as at risk the learning process toward achievement of established goals and communicates clear objectives to the students for all reading math assessments as allotted learning time to maximize student a variety of techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students including technology and specialized and presenting lessons that are congruent with students educational needs utilizing the virtual learning platform Edgenuity. Promote participation within the virtual classroom to engage students in seeing success through online learning. Establishing strong relationships with students and families Grading homework projects and quizzes in a timely manner. Monitoring student progress and providing timely progress reports to students and families. Respecting cultural differences among students and staff. Attends IEP Section 504 or other related meeting necessary for student assessment and/or compliance with the federal and/or state and consults with teachers in establishing reading accurate complete records as required by the law district and in literacy nights to support relevant duties as per Unit A Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement
