We are seeking a School Psychologist to provide assessment services to students who are currently attending Groves Academy. Groves school psychologists are members of the Groves Learning Center and they closely work with members of the Groves Academy. They conduct psychoeducational re-evaluations with Academy students which help students their families and their teachers continue to develop an understanding of their learning profile as well as provide updated information on any learning difficulties. With this information Groves school psychologists develop a plan to support students learning challenges using evidence-based strategies and interventions.
Key Responsibilities - Conducts psychoeducational evaluations which may include synthesizing previous and current background information through record reviews conducting clinical interviews administering psycho-educational assessments completing classroom observations consulting with teachers and engaging in feedback sessions.
- Produces psychoeducational evaluation reports that synthesizes results reviews records and consults with other sources in a timely manner.
- Makes formal diagnoses and provides recommendations regarding educational interventions and accommodations.
- Serves as a consultant to parents and faculty to enhance their understanding of neurological development and behavioral performance.
- Participates with a multidisciplinary team to promote best practices and support for students and clients that span across academic and social-emotional areas of functioning.
- Participates in Groves Academy events throughout the school year to engage with Academy faculty and families.
Education and Experience
- Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) and/or licensed as a SchoolPsychologist by the Minnesota Department of Education required; a psychologist licensed provided by the Minnesota Board of Psychology preferred
- Education Specialist (EdS) in school psychology required; doctorate in school psychology or related field preferred.
- Trained in direct and indirect assessments that include (but not limited to) cognitive academic social-emotional functioning executive functioning and adaptive functioning skills required. Experience with or familiarity with diagnosis of learning disorders ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred.
- Two years minimum related experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational or clinical institution required.
- Previous work experience with a full range of psycho-educational and behavioral assessment tools preferred.
- Skilled in psychological and psycho-educational report writing.
- Knowledge of public-school special education services including eligibility criteria for services and 504 Accommodation Plans preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a variety of people and personalities inside and outside the organization.
- Experience in effectively managing a caseload required including the ability to plan prioritize coordinate and manage own work in a fast-paced environment.
