The DGS Division of Engineering & Buildings (DEB) is hiring for aCapital Outlay Reviewerto on the Cost Review Reviewer will ensure that the Construction & Professional Services Manual (CPSM) capital outlay building cost policies and practices are correctly applied and coordinated for the design of state-owned buildings and structures. This Reviewer will also provide pre-build technical expertise to the Capital Outlay Plan Advisory Committee and ensure that state capital outlay facilities / projects conform to good construction practices are economical solutions to program requirements conform to procurement standards and are within the project description authorized by the Governor and the Legislature.
DEB assures the life health welfare and safety of occupants of buildings on state owned property by serving as the State Building Official in accord with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (COV 36-98.1). More specifically the Division does the following:
As part of the Cost Review team the Capital Outlay Reviewer will support this withextensive knowledge of and professional level experience in architectural analyses cost estimating building and building system designs and construction practices for a variety of facility types and sizes.

This position is located in Richmond Virginia and eligible for a hybrid telework schedule (telework up to 2 days/week)after the completion of a Telework Agreement.
