Your day to day:
The Dean of Students makes decisions that have a significant impact on the goals organization and administration of educational programs and services within the elementary school. The position has supervisory responsibility for the planning assigning reviewing and evaluating of the quality and quantity of work of classified employees within the building. Meetings are conducted with other school personnel to influence motivate and monitor the objectives of the school operation. Other responsibilities include:
- You will serve as a member of the leadership team within the elementary school assisting in directing the formulation and implementation of operational procedures and practices.
- You will assist in the planning development and conducting of staff development and staff training programs.
- You will assist with planning developing and carrying out public and community relations programs and activities.
- You will develop a working relationship with staff that reflects mutual respect and confidentiality.
- You will meet regularly with the administrative team to discuss progress and next steps in key initiatives.
- Provide family and student services and resources as needed.
- Be a working and active resource of the RTI (MTSS/PBIS) process.
- Serve as Case Conference Coordinator.
- You will provide behavior interventions for students consistent with the RTI (MTSS/PBIS) process.
- Assist with writing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Plans.(FBPs) and monitor the progress of those plans with classroom teachers.
- Lead and monitor the success of Anti-Bullying efforts at the building level.
- Monitor data for student attendance and behavior including transportation conduct.
- Help with home visits as needed.
- Assist with or lead parent meetings for students with behavior concerns.
- Serve as a model and coach teachers regarding classroom management and the successful implementation of behavior systems.
- Monitor and assist with attendance homework and general student behavior issues.
- You will act as Activities Coordinator and supervise/monitor after school activities and facility use.
- Confer and consult with school and district personnel parents and students pertaining to educational and behavior management problems and alternative problem solutions.
- Direct supervise observe assess and evaluate site personnel performance while establishing and maintaining a positive team building and team management system.
- Coordinate paraprofessional schedules including supervision schedules and re-assignments when subs are missing.
- Assume a leadership role in the functions and activities of site advisory committees and groups (School Safety Committee).
- Assist with test administration and testing schedules including make-up schedules.
- Assist the principal in conducting effective and efficient personnel management systems including the recruitment selection retention and separation of personnel.
- Report all severe cases of truancy habitual tardiness extended illness or other student attendance problems to the attendance officer.
- Schedule and coordinate fire drills and other disaster drills in the school at least once a month.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.

- You possess a valid teachers license.
- You have three to five years of successful teaching experience and/or successful completion of a comprehensive administrative internship training program.
