Job Description
Come join the amazing team at One Heart Stables the equine program of Encompass Christian Counseling. The Equine Therapist provides hope and healing through interaction with horses and compassionate mental health care that promotes healthy connection to self and others.

Requirements:
- Ohio license in Social Work (LSW) or Counseling (LPC) required in addition to the education required to obtain each license (Bachelors or Masters in Social Work Masters in Counseling). Independent license preferred.
- 5 years of experience working with and riding horses including a fundamental understanding of behaviors and psyche of horses including but not limited to grooming saddling and riding in the Western and/or English discipline(s).
- General understanding of barn management and general equine health is strongly preferred.
- Natural Lifemanship certification strongly preferred.
- Must be physically able to ride and handle horses weighing up to 2000 pounds and of various sizes.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds regularly and more on occasion.
Responsibilities:

- TEAM first.
- Provide equine-assisted and non-equine-assisted mental health services in individual or group settings.
- Facilitate mental health assessments providing accurate diagnoses.
- Complete treatment plans in collaboration with client.
- Submit all clinical documentation notes and paperwork according to agency standards/requirements - typically no less than weekly.
- Participate in peer review and other quality-improvement activities such as supervision.
- Ensure personal productivity/expectations standards are met.
This position is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and drug test satisfactory reference checks (emails were previously sent to the 3 references listed on your application) as well as the completion of a satisfactory Department of Justice National Sex Offender search and Ohio Alleged Perpetrator Search as required by our licensing agency.
Candidates must be 21 or older to apply. References background checks and drug screenings will be completed on all potential candidates. Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and maintain a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable. EOE.
