Job Description
Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering fabrication and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking JourneymanPipefitters to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie AB.
We offer day evening and weekend shifts with excellent premiums for evening and weekend day shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- Lays out assembles fabricates maintains troubleshoots and repairs piping systems carrying water steam chemicals and fuel in heating cooling lubricating and other process piping systems
- Reads and interprets drawings blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Selects type and size of pipe required
- Measures cuts and threads pipe to required dimensions using hand and power tools
- Tack welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
- Installs supports valves piping and control systems
- Tests system for leaks using testing equipment
- Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems
- Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems
- Coaches mentors assists and evaluates apprentices through the employee performance management process to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
- Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
- 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
- As a condition of employment employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
- This position may be required to direct coach and mentor apprentices.
