Caterpillar Inc. seeks Engineer - Design at its facility located at 1300 4H Park Road Pontiac Illinois 61764.
Develop and support advanced high pressure fuel systems for Caterpillar & Perkins engines. Design NTI/ NPI program leadership hands on testing structural/ hydraulic/ electrical analysis supplier collaboration validation manufacturing/ assembly planning and mechatronics control strategy development. Develop and evaluate concepts for design and performance improvements. Support New Technology Introduction (NTI) New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) programs. Collaborate and communicate with internal and external customers suppliers team members and manufacturing facilities (Nuevo Laredo MX (virtual meetings) and Pontiac MI). Conduct bench endurance testing for validation of design changes or component resourcing. Conduct product maintenance support including drawing releases.
REQS: This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Agricultural Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science Materials Science or a related field plus 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer Test Engineer Manufacturing Engineering or related occupation. Alternatively will accept a masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Agricultural Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science Materials Science or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer Test Engineer Manufacturing Engineering or related occupation.
Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Engine component system or platform design; (2) Diesel Fuel Systems or Engine Systems design controls (Mechatronics) performance or simulation experience; (3) Solenoid or electronic component/system design test or manufacturing.

Summary Pay Range:
$95640.00 - $143520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
