Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazons Project Kuiper. Amazons Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Intelligence Engineer who is out of this world excited about technology data security enjoys being continually challenged and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Key job responsibilities
As a business intelligence engineer you will be collaborating with GSC and stakeholder teams to build automated and dynamic reports for external reporting and dashboards to support internal metrics and KPIs.

* Design implement and maintain data infrastructure including data modeling ETL pipelines and ongoing maintenance.
* Partner with various teams to build data pipelines from a wide variety of sources using AWS big data technologies (Lake Formation Glue S3 MWAA Lambda etc.).
* Develop automated solutions to minimize manual processes with focus on efficiency and scalability.
* Assist in the development of key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement.
* Build self-service reporting platforms establishing automated processes for large scale data analysis.
* Understand and write high quality queries to retrieve and analyze data (ongoing reporting and ad hoc requests).

This position may be based in Bellevue WA or Arlington VA. Some travel domestic and international may be required.

- 3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
- Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale complex datasets
- Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing
- Understanding of overall system architecture scalability reliability and performance in a database environment
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Understanding of AWS Glue lake formation/Lambda/Athena/EventBridge.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
