Job Summary:This position is delegated a wide range of responsibilities related to student supervision and discipline at an Elementary School.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to building principal.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in an office and school environment; frequent interruptions; visual and mental concentration on details is required. May be required to deal with distraught or angry people; works with students with diverse needs and cultural backgrounds. May be required to attend evening events.
Education and Experience
Possess BA or BS degree in education social work psychology or other relevant field.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to apply knowledge of strategies for working with students; use effective strategies support positive student behavior; manage student behavior consistent with District and school discipline policies and procedures; effectively manage uninvited visitors to the school campus with firmness and tact. Ability to work effectively in a school environment; interact appropriately with youth; model appropriate behaviors; build positive rapport with parents staff and students; demonstrate sensitivity towards the needs of students and their parents. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; communicate effectively with students District staff parents and the general public using tact courtesy and good judgment; write accurate and detailed reports and records. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Licenses/Special Requirements
CPI Training CPR and First Aid Certification recommended.
Salary: $48.57 - $58.77 hourly.Salary is based upon the current ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement. Rate of pay will be in accordance with the currentESP salary schedule(Level III 2023/24 ESP Salary Schedule). FLSA Non-Exempt.
Work Year: 7.0 hours per day 199 days of the year. This is a leave replacement position for the 2025-26 School Year.
