Job Description

We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Health team as a Caseworker.

About Us

Are you resilient and proactive Are you passionate about helping people in the local community make lasting changes We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join our Opiate team on a fixed term basis covering for maternity.

Working as part of Middlesbrough Council our multi-disciplinary team provides vital support to those experiencing problems related to substance use. Our mission is to empower our service users by offering comprehensive care tailored interventions and a pathway to recovery.

To be successful in this role you need:

Experience in working with vulnerable populationsideally those with issues related to substance use domestic abuse or homelessness.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to a trauma-informed strength-based approach.

A full UK Driving License and proof of business insurance.

You will have a responsibility for providing comprehensive support to clients experiencing substance use issues domestic abuse and homelessness.

You will guide clients through their treatment and recovery journey implementing psychosocial interventions developing recovery plans and facilitating referrals to relevant services. Your work will be helping people achieve recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct screenings and assessments to identify client needs.

Develop and implement tailored recovery plans.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure service users receive the care they need.

Work proactively and flexibly to engage clients and meet service needs.

Ensure adherence to all processes and procedures.

Liaise with the clinical team to coordinate appropriate clinical interventions for clients.

Please note this is a fixed term post until 30.05.2026
