Description

Oakworth Capital Bank has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham AL! We are looking for a full-time Credit Group Leader that will play a vital role in supporting our current & future clients. Summary:

Leads the Credit Analyst team by managing workflow developing talent and promoting consistent credit quality. Ensures sound credit practices through alignment with Risk Management and supports effective monitoring underwriting and decision-making processes.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and measure the workflow of the credit analyst team.
  • Train and develop the skills inventory of the team for execution on our credit methods.
  • Share the OCB vision and strategy with those on team - energize and encourage.
  • Share comments critiques and experiences around credit decisioning in all settings formal and informal.
  • Add personal underwriting work product/package support as needed to balance loads.

Responsibility Details:

  • Lead Manage and Hold Accountable the credit analyst team by managing and measuring workflow training and developing and encouraging the team.
  • Support the team as needed by reviewing financials and tax returns gathering third-party credit data analyzing industry trends and maintaining client credit histories; ensures balanced workload quality and timely execution.
  • Administers the Loan Committee process including but not limited to gathering loan packages by deadlines organizing the meeting agenda taking or delegating the taking of minutes updating packages accordingly as approved or modified.
  • Ensures that the Credit Teams work aligns with the Risk Management team by coordinating how approved credits will be monitored including financing statement reporting covenant tracking ABL reviews and annual reviews.
  • Partner with market leads team leads and client advisors on complex credit packages by organizing discussions providing guidance on credit policy and focusing on practical problem resolution.
  • Consults with management to assist in corporate planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or at least seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and associate development track record.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
