Avista are looking for a candidate that will work on location with front line team in the delivery of service to high support specialist area within Avista Limerick Services This includes monitoring impact of individualised support services and lead and co-ordinate with the person in charge and the management team the delivery of a quality service to individuals supported in specialist service area. The ideal candidate will be a creative critical thinker who is committed to supporting and enabling individuals we support to live their best lives as active citizens in an inclusive society through the delivery of quality services and governance systems that operate in line with Avistas core values.
Essential:
Be a Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) or entitled to be so registered.
Have a broad base of clinical experience relevant to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Intellectual Disability.
Be eligible to undertake a Masters Degree (or higher) in Nursing or a Masters Degree which is relevant or applicable to Intellectual Disability: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The Masters programme must be at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice in addition to clinical practicum.
Or
Be currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Nursing (Advanced Practice Pathway) or other which is relevant or applicable to Intellectual Disability: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The Masters programme must be at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice in addition to clinical practicum.
Or
Possess a Masters degree (or higher) in Nursing or a Masters Degree which is relevant or applicable to Intellectual Disability: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The Masters programme must be at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice in addition to clinical practicum and if these have not been part of masters degrees the candidate must agree to complete the relevant modules within 2 years.
And
Undertake 500 hours of supervised advanced clinical practice (minimum) to develop clinical competency.
Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical professional and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Be a Registered Nurse prescriber of medicinal products as per agreed collaborative practice agreement (CPA) or agree to complete programme within 2 years.
Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibilities within his/her scope of practice and evidence of continuous professional development.
Have excellent communication interpersonal teamwork and effective caseload management skills.
Commitment to a person-centred approach community inclusion and the individual needs of the person.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with families and multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledgeable of the following Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of Residents in Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults) With Disabilities) Regulations 2013 Shaping the Future of Intellectual Disability Nursing in Ireland (2018) Slintecare (2017).
Full driving licence and access to own transport.
Applicants should possess Level 2 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
