Description of Job

This position assists the Museum Director at the El Pueblo History Museum in the management of education programs community partnerships and volunteer coordination.

Education:


Management Planning and Operations:

  • In collaboration with the Museum Director and relevant History Colorado divisions participates in the planning development and implementation of in-person and virtual tours educational programs workshops and revenue generating programs.
  • Works with Collections and Curatorial Division to plan use of collections materials for educational purposes and oversees stewardship of collections materials on museum property.
  • Responsible for planning budgeting and supervising internship experiences for students of all ages.
  • Oversees education volunteers to include training scheduling and implementation of programming and tours.
  • Works with volunteers and interns.

Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

A Bachelors degree in education history museum studies or anthropology or Two years experience in educational program development working with children and teachers and experience in diverse educational settings is preferred.

  • Some travel is required for group meetings outreach and consultation.
  • The use handling or exposure to hazardous materials can exist in museum collections and historic properties may be required.
