  • The Camera Quality Inspection Technician is responsible for testing and evaluating incoming photographic equipment to determine working condition identify any functional or cosmetic defects and assign a quality grade based on KEHs standardized criteria. This role is critical in ensuring we maintain the trust of our customers through accurate representation and reliable gear.
    This position includes on-the-job training to develop the skills necessary for success and offers a pathway for professional growth through our Apprenticeship Program within the Technical Department. Its a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with precision solving problems and learning about cameras and photography equipment.

  • What You Will Do:
  • Clean and test a wide variety of photographic equipment including digital cameras 35mm medium format large format gear and accessories.
  • Examine lens elements for clarity and identify issues such as dust haze fungus or scratches.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electronic functionality including shutter response focus accuracy battery performance and overall operability.
  • Assign an accurate grade based on KEHs equipment assessment scale and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Document findings clearly and accurately within the companys system.
  • Collaborate with the Receiving and Sorting teams to ensure proper workflow and quality standards are maintained.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment ensuring tools and test equipment are properly handled and stored.
  • Uphold KEHs brand values by ensuring consistent quality and care in all work performed.
  • Skills Needed to be Successful:
  • Interest in photography or a curiosity for how mechanical and electronic gear works (technical background is a plus but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of focus when performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn in a structured supportive environment.
  • Clear and professional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated patience professionalism and adaptability in working with complex or delicate equipment.
  • Commitment to following established SOPs while also identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and handle small tools and parts with care.
  • Previous experience in electronics quality inspection or camera equipment is helpful but not requiredtraining is provided.
Language Skills:
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Ability to build merchant category budget.
  • Basic knowledge of applied statistics core machine learning algorithms and basic AI principles
