The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Case Manager 2. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families services and supports that are flexible high quality and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement and cannot be employed or subcontractedby a DDD Qualified Vendor.
Job Duties: |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitates the attainment of Division goals and objectives to promote optimal individual care and education; acts as a steward of resources to achieve goals aligned with program direction; Performs reviews of submitted documentation that includes new services ongoing/continuation of services and increase or decrease in services which may require a Notice of Action.
- Utilizes clinical expertise to review reports records and data to monitor therapy utilization by members qualified vendor providers and the Division.
- Provides supervision of the therapy service delivery system and clinical guidance technical assistance and therapeutic oversight to Division Qualified Vendors and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing supervision to the Divisions subcontracted Health Plans administering the benefit for the Augmentative and Alternate Communication program; participating in Division policy and procedure review revision and/or development regarding therapies.

Knowledge of:
- Statistics and the biological physical and social/behavioral sciences; appropriate biological neurological acoustic psychological fine and gross motor developmental linguistic and cultural bases.
- Research processes and integrate research principles into evidence-based clinical practice.
- Individuals across the lifespan and from culturally/linguistically diverse backgrounds
Skills In:
- Oral and written or other forms of communication sufficient for entry into professional practice by writing and comprehending technical reports diagnostic and treatment reports treatment plans and professional correspondence in English.
- Growth and integration of knowledge skills and abilities/tasks of clinical practice consistent with the standards of professional practice.
- Leadership and supervision
Ability To:
- Integrate information about normal and abnormal human development across the lifespan.
- Access research information with the ability to relate research to clinical practice. Apply the professional Code of Ethics to independent professional practice.
- Work independently with minimal supervision multi-task prioritize and manage workload
Selective Preference(s): |
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Formal project leadership and management experience. Formal training or experience in quality/value improvement patient safety accrediting body standard and/or expense management highly desirable.
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
- The candidate must have graduated from an accredited Masters Level Physical Therapy Program and possess a current Arizona Physical Therapy License.
- Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to
work with children and vulnerable adults. - Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to . 8-804.
- If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply:Drivers License Requirements.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement.
