POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon Petroleum Company LPhas openings forElectrical Techniciansat its refinery in Garyville LA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electrical maintenance and electrical testing in the following areas: motor circuits low and medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers battery systems UPS systems motor operated valvesmicroprocessor-based protective relays low medium and high voltage power transformers variable frequency drives electric heat tracing control systems electrical raceways industrial lighting and complex control systems.
Updates maintenance logs work orders and service history accurately and timely.
Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical or E&I experience required - educational time spent earning a degree/certification in Electrical Technology may count toward the 3-year requirement
Familiarity with electrical test equipment diagnosing the health of electrical equipment control circuits one-line diagrams electrical safety and other electrical technician practices and procedures is required
A valid drivers license is required
A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required upon hire
NFPA 70E preferred
NETA testing experience preferred
NCCER Certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
All Maintenance Craft positions work in various environmental conditions in the refinery. This may include but is not limited to working indoors such as maintenance shops outdoors in open areas process units at heights and confined spaces with or without respiratory protection and limited mobility.
Must be able to stand walk lift and carry 50-pounds.
SAFETY:
Electrical Technicians work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process drug/alcohol and medical screenings and a background check.
SCHEDULE:
Technicians work either a four-ten schedule (Monday Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm) OR a rotating shift schedule. All applicants should be willing to work either schedule as assigned.
All technicians must be available for overtime as required
