In this role you will partner with control systems mechanical power electronics and embedded FW engineers to develop robust and efficient firmware for unique applications. Responsibilities include:Drive control system and motion sensing FW architecture development flows and integration on new hardwareCommunicate progress cross-functionally (written verbal and presentation) Develop diagnostics fault handling and transition prototype code in to productionOptimize embedded system design to minimize compute utilization transport and processing delays in the pursuit of failure analysis and problem solving with internal (Apple) and external (vendor) partners.
Skilled in the development theory and design of realtime sensor or control systems.
Must have domain expertise in at least one of the following: DSP motion sensing or control systems.
Expert in C/C for real time embedded systems
Expert in source control (eg. GIT) on multi developer projects
Experience coordinating communicating and escalating issues to MCU vendors (ST NXP TI etc)
Experience implementing FW on ARM based embedded targets.
M.S. in Engineering minimum of 8 years of industry experience
PhD in Engineering minimum of 5 years of industry experience
Skilled in the development theory design modeling and implementation of control algorithms
Skilled in control systems ID mechanism parameterization friction modeling
Experience with Matlab code generation workflows HIL integration
Experience with software test methods and developing workflows
Hands on experience prototyping control algorithms and demonstrating capability at an executive level.
M.S. in Engineering minimum of 12 years of industry experience
PhD in Engineering minimum of 8 years of industry experience
