Job Description

Position Summary
Gannon Universitys School of Education is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 semesters. Applicants must be admitted graduate students actively pursuing their degree full-time in a field related to education. This position offers remitted tuition benefits and a stipend with a typical work schedule of 10 hours per week. The appointments duration is one year. The Graduate Assistant will support a research project focused on evaluating the effectiveness of a high school dual enrollment program. Tasks include conducting a literature review designing surveys and interview protocols collecting and analyzing data and assisting with preparing research reports. Communication - Applicant must be able to clearly and effectively communicate ideas specifically in drafting the literature review. Critical Thinking Applicant must be able to engage in critical thinking during data analysis to develop logical themes and determine relevance of the findings for the field of education.

Required Qualifications
Educational Background : Enrolled in a graduate program focused on education such as Curriculum and Instruction Educational Leadership Special Education or related field. Teaching or Educational Experience : Previous experiences in teaching tutoring instructional design curriculum development or other educational roles is highly valued. Technology Skills : Proficiency in educational technology tools learning management systems (e.g. Canvas Blackboard) and software relevant to education (e.g. Microsoft Office). Research Skills : Familiarity with educational research methodologies data analysis literature review and the ability to contribute to research projects within the School of Education. Communication Abilities : Strong written and oral communication skills for creating reports presentations and effectively communicating with students faculty and stakeholders. Organizational Skills : Effective time management ability to prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities related to assisting faculty members and supporting educational programs. Collaboration and Teamwork : Experience working collaboratively in academic settings contributing to ideas participating in team meetings and supporting colleagues in achieving educational objectives. Initiative and Problem-Solving : Demonstrated initiative proactive approach to tasks and the ability to solve problems independently or collaboratively within the School of Education context. Ethical Conduct : Adherence to ethical standards in education confidentiality professionalism and respect for diversity and inclusion in educational settings. Adaptability : Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the School of Education changes in educational policies and new challenges in the field of education.
