Job Summary:

The Project Manager Engineer VI leverages extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to address a broad range of project challenges with a particular focus on rail and track systems. Building on progressively responsible experience this role plays a key part in resolving complex issues and managing unique project conditions. The Project Manager remains current on industry trends emerging technologies and evolving methodologies and provides strategic recommendations to enhance organizational practices. This role typically supports programs of limited complexity and scope while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence. This role oversees all aspects of assigned projects with limited complexity and scope ensuring technical accuracy quality compliance and timely delivery. The Project Manager will serve as a leader in project execution design oversight and internal and client coordination while upholding the standards of the Project Delivery Quality Program. This position requires monthly travel to Omaha NE.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead project team(s) for the organization
  • Oversee and analyze the financial performance of a number of projects
  • Oversee and be responsible for project deliverables and complying to the Project Delivery Quality Program
  • Have a track/rail background and capability to oversee design reviews
  • Ensure timely and accurate client invoicing work in progress (WIP) and accounts receivable (AR)
  • management
  • Actively engage in project reviews to ensure the quality and alignment of projects with goals
  • Contribute to identifying improvements and solutions based on review feedback
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within project teams
  • Ability to travel to Omaha on a monthly basis
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in electronic communications (e-mail text) and standard office applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead project meetings and make presentations.
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field ideally with PE or ability to obtain a PE license
  • Experienced with Project Management in the rail and infrastructure space
  • Be bilingual in or strong working knowledge of Spanish

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Professional Engineer Licensein any state
  • 10 years of prior experience.
  • Committed to life-long learning to stay updated on contemporary issues.

Additional Qualifications Certifications etc.:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) equivalent or authorization of CLPO.
  • Membership in a professional practice organization national board member or officer or national technical/policy committee member.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of engineers and designers.
  • Plan schedule or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects or an entire program.
  • Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.

For California Residents only: Salary range is $100000 - $200000 depending on experience.
