Long Term Substitute High School History Teacher (full-time temporary 2025-26)Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a charter public school that serves students in grades 6-12. It entails the teaching of high school history in preparation for success in college and the requisite standardized exams (MCAS AP etc.). In addition the faculty member may serve as an advisor and will fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of CCSC staff.A CCSC History teacher can expect to:- Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students- Work collaboratively to implement a program of study that is intellectually challenging- Work with a diverse student body from Cambridge Boston and surrounding cities- Promote a school-wide culture of respect using the principles of restorative justice - Develop students literacy skills through analysis of challenging nonfiction and fiction texts- Improve students writing skills through whole-class instruction and 1-on-1 conferencing- Serve as an Advisor to a small group of students- Communicate with students families on a regular basis- Participate in myriad forms of professional development as scheduled for all facultyQualifications:- Lead-teaching experience in History preferred- Teaching experience in a similar setting preferred- BA or BS required; appropriate graduate coursework preferred- Proper licensure preferred but not requiredCompensation:$150-$250 per day depending on experience How to ApplySend a cover letter and resume to with the subject line Long Term History Substitute.
