Job Description
JOB DEFINITION:An Instructional Assistant assists teachers and administrators to facilitate positive academic and behavioral growth for students.
ELIGIBILITY:An applicant must meetoneof the following three criteria:
1.)Possess an Associate Degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher learning.
2.)Possess at least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution of higher learning.
3.)Pass the Ohio Department of Education approved Parapro examinationadministered by theEducational Testing Service (ETS) and possess a high school diploma or GED recognized by theOhio Department of diplomas transcripts and Parapro results must bepresented for verification by the Classified Office of the Human Resources Department.
- An applicant must possess a strong desire and willingness to assist teachers and administrators inserving a diverse student population.
- An applicant must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students parents co-workers and supervisors.
- An applicant if hired must obtain an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
SELECTION PROCESS:Selective Interview
HOURS OF WORK:Varies and for the traditional school year
STARTING SALARY: $13.23 per hour
