The F135 Business Acquisition Manager (BAM) is engaged with each F135 Production business pursuit from RFP definition through contract award. You will be the direct link for the F135 Production program office and integrate with the business acquisition team in proposal development effort from initial requirement identification through contract award.

This is an onsite role in East Hartford CT.

What You Will Do:

  • Overall accountability for the business acquisition pursuit
  • Develop strategy for the specific proposal effort
  • Assess customer requirements and participate in requirements working groups
  • Implement and monitor the P&W ME Business Acquisition Process
  • Brief senior leadership and secure commitment through the gated process
  • Estimate and manage the bids & proposal (B&P) budgets to meet annual commitments
  • Effectively communicate proposal status to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with proposal manager Production Chief Engineering Chief and Program Manager to develop capture/win strategy
  • With the BACE Proposal Manager lead the proposal review process
  • With the BACE Proposal Manager support lessons learned events and/or AAR
  • Manage lead and participate in Negotiations between P&W sub-contractors and Government Customer
  • This position provides an opportunity to understand every aspect of the F135 Program and to work with every functional group that supports the program.
  • Strong leadership skills strategic thinking shared vision and ability to gain consensus among a group of various individuals and organizations is required.
  • You have strong communication and negotiation skills proven ability to build strong relationships and strategic leadership to drive effective interactions and contract closure with the USG customer.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A BS/BA in Engineering Business or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in supply chain operations contracts proposal development pricing or program/project management required.
  • Analytical skills expertise in Excel PowerPoint and other Microsoft suite products.
  • Knowledge of military customers propulsion system negotiations and government proposals.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Masters degree in Engineering Business or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Youre adept at managing cross-functional teams and leading cross functional meetings.
  • Strong communication and relationship skills and ability to self-start.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations data and proposals.
  • Excellent business judgment communication skills and customer focus.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 124000 USD - 250000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
