The Last Mile Delivery team is looking for a Middle Mile Planning Manager to design how we will scale Heavy/Bulky delivery model across rural parts of North America.
Amazon Rural Last Mile Delivery is an emerging organization that executes delivery of small parcel and heavy/bulky packages across North America. We merge multiple service types to enhance the customer experience in communities which we dont currently serve.
The Middle Mile Planning Program Manager role will be diving deep into data while simultaneously thinking big building long-term strategic designs that optimize for cost coverage speed and most importantly Customer experience. The candidate will communicate these designs and strategic visions to leadership across retail transportation operations technology teams and senior leadership.

Define plans and lead project charters in middle mile planning and strategy for RSR that aligns with volume and attainment goals as planned provides insight into optimized network planning structure and collaborates with stakeholders for timely implementations.
Provide connections and attainment guidance basing on middle mile viability to stratify selected Metropolitan Service Areas (MSA) for launch in RSR topology planning.
Regularly review attainment and volume performance in the network and proactively seek out connection improvements building stakeholder buy in and alignment from upstream and downstream partners.
Communicate status and issues in volume attainment to drive required resources.
Influences external teams to align with RSR program goals and capabilities to deliver optimal middle mile solves that eliminate blockers to volume attainment for the network.
Ideate and unleash all potential solutions including tech for middle mile and prioritizes those implementations to optimize for quality speed and cost to drive network efficiencies in RSR.
Lead and solve daily operational issues with various stakeholders and further coordinate with tech/product teams to enable tech/product enhancements.
Travel domestically up to 25%.
About the team
Rural Super Rural is building a delivery strategy for low density areas in US & Canada. This role will help define Network Planning approaches to effectively provide these services. The role requires use of Advanced Excel SQL and Tableau along with background in middle mile and last mile logistics.
- 3 years of program or project management experience
- 3 years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3 years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2 years of supply chain experience
- Bachelors degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 3 years of driving end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3 years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes project management and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
