Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments for the Nursing Assistant program at the Sylvania Campus. Candidates will be considered for providing instruction in lecture/lab and clinical settings.Learn more about our program at Qualifications
There are two categories of instructors to be considered for hire:
1)Primary instructor:
Faculty serving as a primary instructor must:
Hold a current Oregon RN license
Have at least two years experience as an RN; and
Have evidence of completion of a course on teaching adults or one year of experience teaching adults
2)Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab:
Faculty serving as an approved clinical teaching associate and/or lecture/lab instructor must:
Hold a current Oregon RN or LPN license; and
Have the equivalent of at least one year of experience as a licensed nurse

Clinical Requirements
Upon hire faculty will be required to complete clinical requirements such as a drug screen background check vaccination verification and online training modules. SeeRequirements for Clinical & Field Educationfor more information.

Official transcripts are required to be submitted within2 weeks of offer datefor degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard. Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
Hourly rates are determine based upon the type of course taught (Lecture Lab or Lecture/Lab).
