The Role:
The Scheduler primarily serves patients by scheduling appointments by phone and maintaining scheduling records. Secondarily the Centralized Scheduler fills in for the front desk when needed.
What Youll Do:
Health by Design is seeking a full-time Medical Appointment Scheduler. Located in Schertz / Northeast San Antonio this clinic provides primary care services to First Responders and their dependents. Prior medical scheduling experience is required! Professional appearance phone demeanor and strong customer service experience is required. This individual may also back up the clinic Front Desk Receptionist when needed. Prior experience utilizing EMR is required (we use Elation). Position is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The ability to handle anxious and unhappy patients and resolve issues and complaints
Anticipate patients anxieties and needs and answering patients questions
Documenting patient information into the EMR: Ensures availability of patient information by recording appropriate patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR) and maintains patient accounts by recording and updating personal and financial information to include scanning documents and attachments into EMR.
Protects patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures reporting needed changes
Education:High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Three plus years medical office experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates Licenses Registrations: MA preferred.
Required Skills:
EMR experience (we use Elation)
Excellent Communication and customer service Skills
Ability to answer the telephone in a professional helpful manner
