Position Overview
Novelis Oswego is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Drafter to join our dynamic team! As an Electrical Drafter you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and engineering teams by creating updating and managing technical drawings and documentation essential to the operation of our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed electrical drawings and blueprints using AutoCAD adhering to Novelis drawing standards
- Review and interpret electrical designs specifications and requirements from engineers and technicians
- Update and revise existing electrical drawings as needed
- Field verification or inspection to gather data and verify measurements
- Assist in developing and maintaining electrical drafting standards and best practices
- Coordinate with other drafters engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects
- Manage storage of drawings in Autodesk Vault
- Update legacy tiff drawings into AutoCAD Electrical
- Manage a drawing database with updated drawing numbers titles headers revision history etc.
- Responding to internal and/or external information enquiries
- Coordinating with area engineers and technicians regarding updates of red line and AutoCAD drawings
Qualifications
- Associate degree in electrical drafting electrical engineering electrical technician or a related field or 5 years experience
- Experience with advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical preferred
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards
- Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
- Basic understanding of electrical systems circuits and components
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to interpret technical documents blueprints and electrical code
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus
For this role the pay is from $39.32 - $42.36 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications experience and performance.
