The school psychologist will conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations of students who have been referred or who receive special education services. The school psychologist is responsible for submitting formal evaluation reports and sharing these results at IEP meetings. The school psychologist will provide specially designed instruction to improve mental and behavioral health as part of regular and special education services and will also provide consultation to classroom teachers and to the Student Support Team. The school psychologist plays an essential role in supporting structured general education interventions and progress monitoring. The school psychologist meets individually with students as needed and reports progress on IEP goals and objectives related to their services. School Psychologists help develop IEP plans and goals for students based on need and determination of services by the team. They provide direct individual or group services to students based on the individual plan and goals developed as well as provide consultative services to school staff and/or parents when appropriate.
