Degree in business communications or related field

Demonstrated administrative/programmatic support experience

Strong written communication skills including experience creating program materials web content and messaging for social media.

Experience with event planning and logistics coordination

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel Publisher Office 365 and Qualtrics as well as design and communication tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Demonstrated experience with database systems including managing cleaning analyzing and reporting on data

Job Description:

The Ivy College of Business Undergraduate Student Services Office is seeking a detail-oriented Undergraduate Communications Specialist. This position plays a key role in supporting student engagement orientation programming and front office operations within the college.

The Undergraduate Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing communication strategies that support Ivy Undergraduate Student Services orientation and other student service initiatives. This includes creating and maintaining print and social media messaging for incoming students managing logistics for orientation programs and communicating with students and families throughout the process. The role also provides vital support for daily front office operations and co-manages a team of 89 student office assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compose review and edit orientation-related communications including email correspondence printed materials and web content for incoming students and their families.

  • Provide logistical support for orientation program registration and advisor scheduling procedures.

  • Manage orientation program databases student records and student information systems that support the programmatic efforts of the Ivy Orientation Coordinator.

  • Coordinate the Ivy orientation open house interact with orientation students and families and assist in managing Ivy Cyclone Aides (student orientation assistants).

  • Create and distribute regular correspondence through the Ivy Undergraduate Student Services social media accounts.

  • Support daily front desk operations including walk-in traffic appointment scheduling and student information services.

  • Provide administrative assistance to the advising and student services teams.

  • Assist with content development and maintenance for the Student Services website

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written visual and verbal communication skills along with strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail. Proficiency with computer systems and databases is essential as is a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills the ability to manage multiple priorities and a talent for problem-solving and conflict resolution. They should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced student-centered environment and be able to interact effectively with individuals across various backgrounds and roles.

The candidate will be hired as a Communications Specialist I.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
