Job Description

Job Title: Site Coordinator Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Principal Pay Range: $52000-$65000

Working Days & Hours: 220 days M-F 10:30 am-6:30 pm

Dept./School: Assigned Campus Date Revised: 7/25/2025

Primary Purpose:

Develop and implement an After-School and Summer School Program that provides appropriate and innovative learning activities and experiences that challenge students with rigorous authentic and engaging learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

Bachelors degree from a recognized accredited college or university

  • Knowledge of:

Basic concepts of child development and atypical child behavior characteristics; appropriate human relations and student needs; duties and responsibilities of a school district Instructional Aide; proper English usage spelling grammar and arithmetical concepts; routine filing; computer skills and record-keeping procedures.

  • Personal Characteristics:

Possession of personal characteristics generally recognized as essential for good public employees including integrity initiative emotional maturity dependability courtesy good judgment and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Fingerprinting/Background Check:

As required by the school district to work with children in a school setting.

  • Physical Abilities /Environment:

Physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position without hazard to themselves or others. Ability to sit stand walk bend stoop kneel perform grasping and handling motions and torso rotations continuously; lift and carry 20 pounds of materials; reach in all directions. Adequate sight or corrected vision for the purpose of reading directions and printed or written materials; hear and speak to communicate with co-workers students and the public; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate instructional equipment; work in the classroom and outdoor environment sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

  • Other Employment Conditions:

Willingness to work on weekends when staff development or other activities such as field trips are scheduled.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Successful experience leading projects or as a project manager
  • Minimum three years of successful classroom teaching experience and/or experience leading afterschool and summer classes
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Project-Based Learning design and implementation
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use Computers Chromebook Printer Google suite of products including Google Sheets Google Drive Google Docs and Zoom

Responsibilities:

  • To successfully incorporate the Program vision goals and objectives into the activities of the site.
  • To successfully assist in designing developing and managing program components that lead to positive outcomes for the participating children and their families.
  • To develop and maintain a safe supportive learning environment in which children thrive.
  • To assist in developing a team that includes the Principal classroom teachers and other staff Program Leaders parent and corporate and community volunteers.
  • To actively participate in staff development workshops that are designed to contribute to personal and professional growth.
  • To report site activity to the Project Director through monthly reports and weekly meetings.

Duties:

  • Implement programs designed to increase student performance in core academic areas to prepare them for success on State achievement tests.
  • Assist with instruction and supervision of students.
  • Implement adult community education programs for parents of after-school students.
  • Assist in achieving positive academic and social outcomes.
  • Recruit staff (with the assistance of the Principal and Program Administration).
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners and monitor partner participation in the program.
  • Assist in budget preparation budget monitoring and the purchase of needed supplies and equipment.
  • Actively participate in all training and staff support activities and workshops required by the Program.
  • Ensure that team members share the same vision and goals.
  • Provide guidance so that Program Leaders meet their responsibilities.
  • Assist in evaluating staff performance and make recommendations for hiring discipline and termination.
  • Assist in providing resources and tools for all team members.
  • Maintain all site supplies.
  • Provide ongoing opportunities for children to experience success.
  • Ensure that students are well-behaved and implement the discipline policy when necessary.
  • Keep school staff informed about the Program.
  • Maintain the safety of students.
  • Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness/injury.
  • Assist in maintaining the maximum number of students enrolled.
  • Assist in effectively managing site operations including the timely completion and submittal of reports.

Other:

  • Develop positive relationships with the school staff.
  • Recruit retain and work effectively with volunteers.
  • Make the program engaging for students and staff.
  • Maintain professionalism with parents staff and community.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • There are occasional weekends and evenings. Work time is flexible based on events. For example if leading a Family Engagement event in the late evening etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned staff;
  • Assist in the hiring and training of staff.

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. All campuses are temperature-controlled and have hard surface floors. The job requires physical mobility standing prolonged sitting lifting carrying pushing and pulling (10 pounds minimum). The job may also require climbing stairs stooping bending and reaching overhead. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.

Working conditions may be modified under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for diagnosed medical conditions.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy on the evaluation of professional personnel.

Funding:

This position is grant-funded by the 21st Century Grant. If there is a substantial reduction in that funding or the funding ceases the position may be terminated by the school and the affected staff member shall be placed on layoff status and considered as a candidate for any future job for which the staff member is qualified.
