Moderate Complexity Lab Director (Part-time/Remote)

Lighthouse Lab Services is a leading provider of laboratory consulting and staffing solutions dedicated to enhancing laboratory operations across the United States. We are currently looking for a Moderate Complexity Laboratory Director to serve a lab right outside of Minneapolis MN.

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Moderate Complexity Laboratory Director to oversee laboratory operations in compliance with CLIA regulations. This part-time role involves remote oversight with bi-annual onsite visits to ensure the highest standards of laboratory practice.

This position requires 6 hours of remote work with biannual visits.

Compensation: $1000/monthly

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable CLIA regulations for moderate complexity testing

• Review and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs) quality control logs and proficiency testing results.

• Provide guidance on laboratory practices and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable patient test results.

• Conduct bi-annual onsite visits to assess laboratory operations and provide direct oversight.

• Maintain documentation of all oversight activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA requirements for a Moderate Complexity Laboratory Director which include:

  • A current license as a laboratory director issued by the State of Minnesota if such licensing is required.

  • One of the following educational and experiential backgrounds:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) licensed to practice in Minnesota with:

      • Certification in anatomic or clinical pathology or

      • At least one year directing or supervising nonwaived laboratory testing and

      • At least 20 continuing education (CE) credit hours in laboratory practice covering laboratory director responsibilities.

    • Doctoral masters or bachelors degree in a chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science with:

      • Relevant laboratory training or experience and

      • Supervisory experience in nonwaived testing and

      • At least 20 CE credit hours in laboratory practice covering laboratory director responsibilities.

• Proven experience in moderate complexity chemistry testing.

• Strong understanding of CLIA regulations and laboratory best practices.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Must reside within Minnesota to facilitate bi-annual onsite visits.

• Ability to commit to approximately 6 hours of remote work per month.
