The ideal candidate for this position within the Vascular Access Team will have;
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing is required.
- BSN or Conferred BSN degree required.
- 3-5 years of ICU Nursing experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- ACLS
- PALS Completion within the initial 3 months of hire in the following departments: ICU/IMC PACU and Emergency Department.
- Relevant clinical work experience related to practice in ICU or the Emergency Department.
Description
- Understands and follows policies and protocols while helping other staff utilize these resources effectively. Performs and assists others in the completion of: core measures unit based/annual competencies regulatory requirements quality measures service excellence and education.
- Functions as charge nurse and/or preceptor. Resolves issues at the unit level in collaboration with nurse manager or supervisor as appropriate.
- Assist others to perform assessments and reassessments as appropriate for the patients needs collecting data from all sources to assist with formulating a nursing diagnosis.
- Develops an individualized Plan of Care based on the patients assessment with mutual realistic and measurable goals and documents this thoroughly in the patients record.
- Coordinates and directs available resources and personnel in developing and following the Plan of Care.
Qualifications :
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing is required.
- As of December 1 2021 BSN or Conferred BSN degree required.
- 3-5 years of ICU Nursing experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- ACLS Provider completion at date of hire of employment in the following departments: ICU/IMC and Emergency Department.
- PALS Completion within the initial 3 months of hire in the following departments: ICU/IMC PACU and Emergency Department.
- Relevant clinical work experience related to practice in ICU or the Emergency Department.
- Maintenance of 20 contact hours of education every two years.
- Professional Organization membership is preferred.
- Competent with titrating drip.
- Ultrasound-guided IV trained
