Job Summary

Amazon Leo is Amazons low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools hospitals businesses and government agencies Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

We are hiring an Industrial Engineer to support Factory Planning within our GSE Engineering team. This role will be responsible for the heartbeat of satellite production facility delivery. They will develop and deliver plans for facility layout and function and will unite production teams to achieve mission success. This individual will work with a wide variety of contractors technicians engineers architects and Amazon leaders to develop and deliver a vision that meets our satellite production goals.




Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-level CAD models rate calculators and equipment lists for production and product flow through the factory
- Develop and maintain high-level utility budgets LN2 GN2 Compressed Air Electrical
- Drive a unified production vision across a variety of different product lines within available constraints
- Deliver plans for layout and construction of factory cells based on co-development with area leaders
- Work with internal and external teams to deliver rate capable facilities to meet timelines

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- 2 years of hardware design and validation of components subsystems and systems experience
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
