Title: Adjunct Faculty

Job Description
Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduates in the area of the candidates specialization. Selected candidates may be required to teach in Radford Universitys Core Curriculum and/or graduate courses as needed.
Adjunct faculty shall be evaluated in every course including summer session.
Required Qualifications
All faculty must have at least a Masters degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being some cases subject to the approval by the Provost a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
All faculty must have at least a Masters degree in the field in which they are teaching with 18 graduate hours of course work related to the specified some cases subject to the approval by the Provost recommendation for appointment may be based on the substitution of significant experience for the degree. A memo from the Dean placed in the instructors personnel file is required to justify an exception to the accreditation standards of SACS and must include certification of the knowledge and skills.
