- Assemble costs for labor and materials on large (typically multi-million dollar engineer-to-order) projects.
- Use historical performance for baseline costing for labor (NRE and Mfg.) and materials with data analytics as a means for increased accuracy in the face of uncertainty in customer requirements and/or engineering risk assessments.
- Collaborate with engineering and business development teams to best represent costs of customer defined requirements for 1st development and follow-on systems.
- Provide suggestions to engineering and project management teams where commonality or volume pricing as examples will be helpful at being competitive with costing and schedule while not taking away from customer requirements.
- Maintain update and manage material costs for estimating and volume pricing.
- Combine sources of information from historical references for actuals on labor and material costs engineering estimates and risks to provide and recommend costing and pricing options for sales and engineering management during the proposal phase.
- Coordinate and provide schedule estimations for project quotes along with data analytics that provide a range of outcomes based on team skill sets experience levels customer influence and impact from the product life cycle stage being quoted.
- Lay out cash forecasts and schedules based on hour and material estimates.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and protect company sensitive costing and pricing strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Estimating Manager.
Your Qualifications
- Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes and motivate others to do the same.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines and continually adapt to changing needs.
- Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and direct with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks working with multiple timelines.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Outlook ExcelWordand PowerPoint).
- Experience interfacing with ERP systems Epicor a plus.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and collaborate with employees at all levels.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
- 5 years estimating experience required preferably in a high-volume engineer-to-order business.
- BS in Engineering Business or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working in a matrixed environment required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
