WHO WE ARE
Since 1993 The Pathfinder Network (TPN) has been providing justice-system impacted individuals and their families the tools and support they need to be safe and thrive in our communities. We serve individuals experiencing incarceration those reentering the community those on forms of community supervision their families and their children within 9 of Oregons 11 corrections facilities and in the community in Multnomah Jackson Marion and Clackamas Counties. We develop and deliver a comprehensive scope of evidence-based trauma- gender- and culturally-responsive cognitive behavioral-based programs including our proprietary evidence-based curriculum Parenting Inside Out which is the highest-rated parenting skills curriculum for parents involved with the criminal justice system. Our community programs feature holistic wraparound individual and group support and services. We serve an average of 3000 people a year agency-wide.

You will be instrumental in meeting The Pathfinder Networks (TPN) annual contributed revenue goals with a focus on raising funds through foundation and government (federal state and county) grants and corporate and individual donors. You are an exceptional storyteller with a keen editorial eye for detail; are self-directed while managing multiple projects and deadlines; and thrive in a fast-paced busy environment. This keystone role is integral to fueling our programmatic work and touches all corners of the organization in working to live out and advance the mission of TPN.
We are looking for a development champion to join an innovative organization that is making a positive impact in the lives of community members impacted by the criminal justice system. This position will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that the agency has the resources needed to carry out our mission. We are seeking a visionary collaborative and inclusive leader who is looking to grow with the agency.
Responsibilities
Grants Writing and Management (55% of your time)
- Manage and conduct the full range of activities needed to develop persuasive proposals for grant requests. This includes attending funder information sessions the writing of narratives coordinating preparation of budgets with the Finance Department development of final materials for submission and submitting final applications ensuring all deadlines are met. This also includes informing and engaging any relevant staff members.
- Manage grant project portfolio averaging 5-7 projects per month and maintain all tracking sheets and calendars.
- Create and manage annual grants plans and facilitate all grant meetings.
- Process monitor and coordinate required reports on new and existing grants. Work closely with teams across the agency.
- Assist with applications for earned revenue opportunities for the agency.
- Engage staff from across the organization in the grant writing process. Be a content expert on agency programs and their impact and regularly engage with programs and program staff.
Development (40% of your time)
- Lead the implementation of TPNs strategic Development Plan.
- Develop and execute TPNs annual development plan including annual funding priorities goals and activities in collaboration with agency leadership and staff to increase awareness visibility and revenue to support the mission and strategic direction of TPN. Work in partnership with agency leadership and staff to develop annual funding priorities that are mission aligned.
- Manage the on-going research and tracking of funding prospects from various sources that match the strategic priorities of TPN.
- Develop and manage the individual donor program including ongoing stewardship efforts donor database (NeonOne) and cultivate successful relationships with national regional and local grant-making individuals and organizations.
- Create and implement an in-kind donation and corporate sponsorship strategy collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Share the TPN story and the impact of our work through media and written and verbal communication. Attend events and represent TPN in the community to increase support for the agency and its work.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager on communications related to Development activities.
- Support the Board of Directors in fundraising efforts and lead board development related to fundraising including leading the Board Fundraising Committee.
- Oversee plan and execute annual fundraising initiatives to achieve revenue goals including Giving Tuesday and Year-End Appeal campaigns stewardship activities events and major gifts.
- Lead efforts to produce annual impact reports and other reports on impact throughout the year.
- Lead planning of events and fundraisers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Participation in Shared Leadership (5% of your time)
- Be a champion in the shaping and sustaining of a diverse equitable inclusive and just workplace with a focus towards creating racial equity.
- Participate on cross-departmental teams or committees regarding organizational policies processes and work environment
- Participate in Temporary Teams Equity Team Employee Resource Groups and other teams
- Contribute individualized skills knowledge experience and expertise to help the agency reach its mission

Experience and skills we are interested in:
- Equivalent to an Bachelors degree in a related field
- Four or more years of related experience
- Effective oral and written communications skills with an ability to relate with a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner
- Experience with government grants preferred
- Non-profit experience and/or lived experience with the criminal justice system and/or child welfare system
- Intermediate level computer capabilities in use of databases web-based environments word processing email and spreadsheets
- Must pass a criminal history background check (a criminal record is not automatically disqualifying) employment verification and drug screen
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have access to a motor vehicle during work hours that is covered by adequate car insurance
- Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that meets the organizations underwriting criteria.

Working Conditions/Travel Requirements
The Pathfinder Network follows public health guidance for any public health emergencies and will remain in compliance with any vaccination or isolation requirements from partner agencies.
This position will be hybrid with the ability to work remotely up to 60% of the time. Attendance at in-person meetings and events will be required. This is a full-time exempt position working 40 hours each week. Typical days of work are Monday through Friday and may include weekend afternoon and evening hours.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Regular travel for errands program site visits training events and meetings will be required with advanced notice.

Compensation and Benefits: This is an exempt full-time position. The hiring rate for this position is $71295 - $75637 per year DOE. Salary offers are determined in conjunction with an internal pay equity assessment.
