Job Summary:
This role is for a Surgical Technologist in a short-term acute care hospital. The Surgical Technologist will provide surgical support during a variety of surgical procedures in an outpatient and community hospital setting including Orthopedic Neuro and Vascular cases. The position requires a minimum of one year of experience and includes weekend and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Monitoring patient vital signs during surgery.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments.
- Maintaining accurate surgical records.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience in outpatient and community hospital settings preferred.
- Experience with Orthopedic Neuro and Vascular cases preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Active Surgical Technologist license in the state of employment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in inpatient and trauma settings.
- National Surgical Technologist certifications.
Special Considerations:
- 12-hour shifts with start times varying between 7 am 9 am and 11 am.
- Weekend work required (3 weekends per schedule).
- On-call responsibilities: one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd Saturday or Sunday (7 am - 7 am 20-minute response time).
- All RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted in advance and approved based on facility needs.
- Facility may call off one shift per two weeks.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts.
- Shift start times vary (7 am 9 am 11 am).
- Three weekends per schedule are required.
- On-call one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
