Job Summary:
This role is a non-patient-facing Registered Nurse position in a hospital transfer center. The RN will be responsible for coordinating patient transfers within the state communicating with physicians and other stakeholders and managing all related documentation. Strong communication and detail-oriented skills are essential.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinating patient transfers across the state.
- Connecting physicians to facilitate transfers.
- Retrieving necessary patient documentation.
- Managing all phone communication with key stakeholders.
- Documenting transfer details.
- Providing coverage for inpatient nursing shifts as needed (float pool).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting (ER Triage IMC/Stepdown or ICU experience preferred).
- BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle emergent situations.
- Detail-oriented.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in ER Triage IMC/Stepdown or ICU.
Special Considerations:
- Primarily a non-patient-facing role with potential for occasional inpatient nursing shifts.
- Weekend work required (every other weekend).
- On-call is not required.
- Floating to other areas within the RNs skillset may be required to meet facility needs.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (36 hours total).
- Variable shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM.
- Guaranteed 62 hours per two weeks with potential for one 12-hour shift call-off per two weeks.
