Who are we looking for
Were looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Northeast Fire and Life Safety team! In this role you will support a wide variety of projects involving code consulting system design/evaluation fire modeling etc. for a diverse group of clientele throughout the Northeast Region and across the U.S.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Recommendations: Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
- Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes systems and procedures and use established change management programs to address them.
- Audit: Work within established audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support.
- Business Requirements Identification: Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews document analysis workshops and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
- Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals.
- Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
- Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in the evaluation and/or design of Fire Protection Systems
- Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards including Life Safety Code Requirements for both new construction and modifications to existing buildings preferred
- Exposure to the application of fire modeling (i.e. FDS CONTAM Pathfinder CFAST etc.) preferred
- AutoCAD and/or REVIT design capability and experience a plus
