We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight within a dynamic private hospital environment in Enugu. The ideal candidate will drive nursing excellence ensure regulatory compliance and cultivate a high-performing and compassionate nursing team committed to delivering superior patient outcomes.
This role is best suited for a proactive leader with extensive nursing experience strong managerial acumen and a passion for mentoring healthcare professionals.
Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to formulate and review nursing protocols and care delivery standards.
Mentor and coach nursing staff to support professional development and enforce best practices.
Set and track SMART departmental goals; foster accountability and clinical excellence.
Conduct regular performance reviews and promote a merit-based culture.
Ensure compliance with national regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines.
Drive the adoption of contemporary nursing practices and healthcare technologies.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Manage departmental budgets staffing levels and resource allocation.
Foster a positive and collaborative work culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper record-keeping of nursing activities and patient care.
10 15 years of post-qualification experience in a hospital environment.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior nursing leadership role (preferably in a private hospital).
Currently employed within a private healthcare facility.
Valid practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Certifications in BLS ACLS and/or PALS.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is an added advantage.
Strong leadership presence with a balanced empathetic and decisive approach.
Demonstrated commitment to nursing excellence and patient-centered care.
Ability to set clear goals track progress and adapt strategies.
Open to innovation and the use of modern nursing technologies.
Effective at conducting objective transparent performance appraisals.
