Job Description

Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician

Location: Newry BT35 6PU

Salary: Up to 34000 (Depending on experience and qualifications) 3600 annual bonus

Full Time and Permanent Monday Friday 9.00am -5.30 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays (1/2 day)

Our client is one of the largest and fastest-growing motor retailers. They represent major global
franchises from various locations in Northern Ireland.

They are now actively looking to recruit a Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic in Newry.

Job Description:
Keep the working area clean and ensure Company vehicles equipment and special tools are used in
the correct manner.
Carry out the instructions of the Service Manager regarding parts removed from cars and adherence
to workshop H&S Regulations.
Supervise and train the Trainee Technicians to a high standard.
Undertake road tests following one of the approved test routes.
Report to Service Manager recommended additional work for the customer s approval.
Work in accordance with quality system and Dealership warranty procedures.
Ensure the health check form is completed.
Carry out work for Sales Department: PDI inspection on new cars safety checks and pre-delivery
servicing/repairs on used cars.
Have a thorough knowledge of Group guidelines procedures and Group policies to ensure that they
are adhered to by yourself other employees suppliers and customers at all times.
Promote all services of the Group to customers when the opportunity arises.
Promote a positive attitude to create a cohesive team that will take the business forward.
Establish standards of housekeeping for the whole site and ensure that waste material is controlled
and disposed of in accordance with regulations.
Cooperate fully with the implementation of the company s Health & Safety arrangements for
example reporting accidents/incidents and equipment defects to management and maintaining a
clean uncluttered and safe environment for customers members of the public and staff.











To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to
the processes and procedures operating within the job holder s area and across the wider business
e.g. reduction of waste recycling etc.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:
Fully qualified Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance they will also consider Level 2 qualified
people who are willing to train up to be Level 3 qualified.
Demonstrate ability to manage processes administration and paperwork.
Have previous Automotive Technician experience. Ideally you will also have an MOT Testing
qualification and some main dealership experience.
Demonstrate ability to support coach counsel and develop colleagues and junior team members
and to deliver high standards of technical advice service and maintenance to all customers.Education

Nvq level 3 in light vehicle repair
