Base location Cambuslang or Edinburgh Park (site locations across the central SPT region)

ScottishPower is powering the future with a landmark 10.6 billion investment into its transmission network marking a transformative step in rewiring Britain for a cleaner greener energy SP Energy Networks this ambitious programme will deliver major infrastructure upgrades across central and southern Scotland including new substations enhanced circuits and expanded capacity to connect to 19GW of renewable energy.
Working within theMajor Projects division for SP Transmission youll play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects that power homes and businesses across Scotland.
What youll be doing
As a Site Manager youll lead the on-site delivery of civils construction works acting as Principal Contractor and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations. Youll:
- Manage construction outputs and ensure alignment with engineering design and standards.
- Oversee contractor performance quality and environmental compliance.
- Drive commercial and programme performance across work packages (510 million CAPEX).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe efficient delivery.
- Support sustainability and biodiversity targets in line with OFGEM regulations.
What youll bring
Were looking for someone with:
- Experience managing civils elements of transmission projects in Scotland.
- Strong understanding of civil and structural design inspection and testing.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM 2015 regulations.
- Excellent leadership planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools (e.g. Teams).
- A proactive flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously in site environments.
Essential requirements
- HND in Engineering/Construction or equivalent site management experience in the power sector.
- SMSTS (5-day) qualification
- 3 day First Aid qualification (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong IT skills
