Practical Nurses play a critical role in delivering hands-on patient-centered support to adult male inmates at David Wade Correctional Center.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license a temporary permit or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will be instrumental indelivering hands-on patient-centered support. In this role you will:- Conducts daily sick call
- Attend emergencies
- Assists RNs or Physicians
- Works with all medical staff
Position-Specific Details:THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED AS A PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT
or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE
OF LOUISIANA STATE GOVERNMENT (State Employee)
This position may be filled as:- DETAIL:The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT:Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT:This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment should a permanent position become available the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
This position has a Special Entrance Rate at each level
Practical Nurse-Licensed 1 has an SER of $19.48 per hour.
Practical Nurse-Licensed 2 has an SER of $20.84 per hour.
Practical Nurse-Licensed 3 has an SER of $22.30 per hour.There is Premium Pay at a rate of $5.00 per hourfor each hour worked in addition to regular pay.
SALARY DEPENDENDS ON LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE- As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Practical Nurse - Licensed 1 2 or 3depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
- The maximum salary for thePractical Nurse - Licensed3is $68806.00 annually.
