  • Package includes salary $129464 p.a. - $142665 p.a. plus employers contribution to superannuation
  • Temporary full-time role up to 1st of September till 19th September 2025
  • Located in Parramatta (negotiable)

About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to lead a dedicated team responsible for supporting and coordinating aerial shooting and baiting programs across NSW national parks.

The role encompasses oversight of State-wide aerial control program commitments ensuring effective service delivery within NPWS. This role will coordinate the planning implementation and tracking of these programs providing advice to park operations colleagues on planning and compliance processes to guarantee operational integrity.

This key Senior Project Officer role will support the ongoing delivery of aerial control programs by overseeing budgets managing resources and ensuring reliable procurement practices. This role will help maintain effective systems for data capture and reporting provide regular updates on program progress and facilitate training and resource needs across teams. The work will involve collaborating with both internal colleagues and key external partners to ensure the continued success and compliance of aerial control operations.

About you

Your passion for your community and environment coupled with a strong attention to detail and proficiency in project management will be key to your success in this role. Your ability to manage multiple prioritiesranging from logistics and procurement to compliance and reportingwill be critical to your success.

You are adept at fostering collaboration and providing guidance supporting colleagues through planning and approval processes and ensuring consistent adherence to compliance standards. Your proficiency in managing budgets and resources enables you to support the delivery of high-impact programs while your skills in data management reporting and project tracking ensure timely and reliable insights into program performance.

Your leadership will be grounded in strong organisational communication and problem-solving abilities all of which you will apply to advance the effectiveness of aerial control operations across NSW National Parks.

Essential requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement tendering and contract preparation in managing project teams consultants and contractors and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing implementing and reviewing strategic plans policies and programs and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.
