Job Description

TheInsurance Accounts Receivablerole is a billing staff position with responsibility for specified department duties with ENTAA Care a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Responsible for the accurate processing of insurance claims including Medicaid/Medicare claims. Issues refunds when appropriate.
  • Collects and enters patients insurance information into data base when appropriate.
  • Processes insurance correspondence signature and insurance forms.
  • Follows up with insurance companies and ensures claims are paid by contracted fee schedule.
  • Responds to telephone calls from patients regardin account information
  • Trains personnel new to practice
  • Provides cross coverage

Shift:

Monday-Friday Day Shift

No weekends

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years of insurance billingexperience in a health care organization
  • Prior knowledge of medical billing/collections practices; basic CPT coding; ICD-10 concepts; and medical terminology
  • Prior knowledge of insurance industry contracts policies and appeal process
  • Capacity to type 40 wpm
  • Ability to read and understand EOB remittance

Salary Range: Minimum$19.00/hour - Maximum $25.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
