Overview

As a part of the Global Capital Markets (GCM) COO team this Analyst will be responsible for supporting CIB in the day-to-day business management activities including execution of strategic initiatives for the business executive and board level management reporting and acting as the liaison between the business and internal support functions. You will contribute to the overall success of the team ensuring specific individual goals plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives while ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

What Youll Do

  • Work closely with business leaders across desks to deliver on the U.S. growth strategy
  • Champion a client-centric focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge to deliver solutions that Scotiabank can provide across its footprint
  • Build and manage relationships with Internal Control and support functions e.g. Compliance Legal Finance Risk Audit Operations etc to support day-to-day activities of the GCM business
  • Partner with Finance and Client Analytics teams to enhance reporting to drive strategic business decisions
  • Support the U.S. GCM COO team in executing various strategic initiatives across the franchise
  • Create an environment in which his/her/their team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her/their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Actively partner with the U.S. GCM COO team U.S. GCM leaders and broader GBM partners to build team dynamics and engagement across teams
  • Actively contribute to a high performance and inclusive work environment

What Youll Bring

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Finance Accounting or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including the use of MS Office Excel Word PowerPoint
  • Superior organization skills
  • Maintain a professional approach in all client interactions
  • High attention to detail with a sense of urgency appropriate to the situation
  • Strong time management skills and driven to achieve timelines and goals
