Job Description
FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU) a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia invites applications for the position of Nursing Clinical Instructor.
Fort Valley State University the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2800 students including graduate students. JOB SUMMARY:
Fort Valley State University Department of Nursing is seeking part-time clinical instructors for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision and evaluation of 8-10 nursing students in the hospital clinic community simulation and lab setting.
- Grade clinical assignments and complete weekly midterm and final student evaluations.
- Provide students with timely feedback regarding clinical performance.
- Work in collaboration with the course coordinator
- Attend departmental meetings and in-services.
- Develops a positive relationship with administrators and nursing staff at clinical facilities.
- Comply with policies and procedures set forth by the Department of Nursing and clinical facilities.
- Participate in professional development to remain current in nursing education and practice.
- Acts as a role model for students and peers.
- Exhibits professional and ethical morals beliefs and values.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
- An unencumbered Registered Professional Nurse License in the state of Georgia.
- Three (3) years experience in professional nursing practice.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team.
- Successful completion of a background check and urine drug screen.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Lifting and carrying objects weighing 25-50 lbs. may be required.
