Behavior Systems Team Coordinator Needed
Location: Williston Central School District
Champlain Valley School District is looking for a Co-Behavior Systems Team Coordinator to join our Williston school team!
Dutites and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Universal Behavior System (Tier 1) using the PBIS framework.
- Co-coordination and oversight of behavior team support staff (i.e. planning room para-educator behavior specialist and/or intensives)
- Participates in committees and initiatives to promote and sustain school-wide behavior systems.
- Use a data-driven approach to identify analyze and address behaviors that impact learning.
- Coach and consult with teams to develop implement and monitor behavior interventions
- Develop and facilitate trainings for professional development as it pertains to behavior systems and school-wide intervention systems
- Behavioral support during lunch and recess periods bus arrival and bus dismissal as needed
- Communicating with families in regards to student behavior as needed
- Attend meetings for students identified through MTSS. As directed participates in EST 504 IEP and evaluation and team meetings to assist in developing student plans and assessing student progress challenges and needs.
- Foster a positive school climate by building trust collaborating with staff to support student well-being and success and promoting conflict resolution for accountability empathy and healthy relationships.
- Understands the impact that behavior systems have on our historically marginalized students and works closely with DEI coaches to ensure equitable practices are implemented addressing disparities and fostering an inclusive school environment.
- Trained in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) to support students in crisis who may be displaying behaviors which are unsafe for the classroom environment
- Support investigations of complex student interactions such as bullying and harassment as well as Title IX with attention to detail and procedures as defined by state district and local policies
Bachelors degree or equivalent in education with licensure in a related licensed area (ex. special educator social worker counselor etc.) or a willingness to obtain this license through the AOE with relevant experience are preferred.
