Summary
Seattle & King County Public Health is seeking a motivated Public Health Nurse to join our Columbia Public Health Teams Parent Child Health team which provides Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management (MSS/ICM) services in the office and in the field. This position will be based out of the Columbia Public Health Center with travel throughout central and south King County. To learn more please visit Duties- Obtain and document health history; make nursing diagnoses based on nursing assessment.
- Determine program eligibility and provide client-centered education interventions support and referrals remotely (phone/video) and in office settings client homes and other community locations.
- Coordinate care with team members and other health care providers and make referrals to appropriate services; provide and document case management; and assure access and continuity of care.
- Provide birth control and pregnancy options counseling as needed.
- Document client information and services and manage appointment schedules in various electronic health records including EPIC.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to meet regulations policies and procedures.
- Provide training orientation and education to staff clients students and the community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State license as a Registered Nurse or Multi-State Licensure.
- Documentation of current BLS-CPR for Health Care Providers. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.
- Washington state drivers license or ability to travel to sites within the county.
- Pass background check and credentialing.
Work Schedule:This is a fully benefited Career Service Public Health Nurse 1.0 FTE position 40 hours per week in person-telecommuting is not an option. Workdays and hours will be determined at time of hire and may vary based on client service needs. Current workdays are Monday through Friday and may include some weekend hours in the future. Work hours may be negotiated at time of hire but will fall within typical business hours of 7:30 AM 6:00 PM. This position is non-exempt and therefore subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Work Location:This position will be primarily based at Columbia Public Health Center located at 4400 37th Ave S. Seattle WA 98118 and may be asked to work at other locations depending on staffing needs.This posting will be used to fill all needs. Interviews for this opportunity will be conducted on August 26th and 28th.
