POSITION:
School Adjustment Counselor(1.0)
Elementary Schools
Assignment: South River Elementary School
STARTING DATE:
September 2025 (teachers begin Tuesday September 2 2025)
SALARY:
Teacher Salary Schedule
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP ORLINE OF AUTHORITY:
Directly responsible to Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA DESE License: School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor (All Levels).
- Previous/recent experience preferred.
- Provide comprehensive services including functional behavior assessments individual/group therapy and consultation services to parents teachers administration and out-of-district assessors.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strong parent communication skills ability to conduct behavioral assessments/observations and a strong desire to work with challenging students is required.
- Certification in Non Violent Crisis Methodology/Safety Care beneficial (willing to complete formal training if needed).
- Experience with social emotional and therapeutic environments preferred.
- Ability to develop and implement behavioral plans.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and other service providers within the district as well as outside therapists medical professionals and parents.
