The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and machinery used in the manufacturing of medical devices. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and meets quality and safety standards to support continuous production. Performs a variety of skilled journeyman level general mechanical and preventative maintenance tasks. Conducts inspections servicing repair and overhaul of equipment in the molding and assembly areas of the manufacturing facility. May serve as a technical expert in HVAC operations service and repair.
Main accountabilities and tasks
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime
- Diagnose mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic issues and perform timely repairs
- Calibrate and adjust machines to maintain compliance with production and quality specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify equipment improvements and upgrades
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs service records and report any equipment malfunctions
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety regulations
- Assist in equipment installations validations and qualification activities
- Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns to reduce operational disruptions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
- Use state and local Building Code knowledge and promptly advises management of any issues or concerns

- Coordinate oversee and ensure outside vendor service is properly completed and meets medmix standards for repair and maintenance
- Responds to and resolves skilled facility installation and repair requests for electrical plumbing and department equipment as assigned
- Document work in such a way as to provide accurate repair and preventive maintenance history
- Initiates improvements to existing systems
- Supports programs EHS and monitors hazardous waste
Qualifications :
Desired experience and qualifications
Work experience: 3 years in a Maintenance Technician role in a manufacturing environment
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in industrial maintenance electronics or related field preferred
Other:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or medical device environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and pneumatic system
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 FDA and cGMP
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Electrical knowledge Electrician certification preferred
- Experience with industrial or commercial HVAC maintenance and/or service experience preferred
- Knowledge of clean room operation preferred
- Knowledge of building qualification for medical industry preferred
- Familiar with Manufacturing environment (injection molding automation)
